Art work takes time to create so here are things to do while watching paint dry. First on the list is to ?clean up your site?. Take the time to take a close look at it and tidy up a bit. Fix your jpeg?s, tiff’s & gif?s and make sure url links match. Dot your e?s and cross your alt ?s. Once you have all your htm?s in a row then it ?s time to dig into the heavy work.

I Am Difference Reality

As an art agent I come across many diverse individuals and artwork. I have a client, Gabrielle Gianella whom photographs nature. She sent me pictures of her pet frogs, an Australian Tree Frog and a Costa Rican Red Eye Frog. Each creature was in fact frogs yet they were so very different in appearance. She had them posed in real-life situations and the idea hit us at the company. We should promote the frogs as diversity. We approached the artist with the idea and she was elated.

Plan or not to Plan? The outcome of the painting will be vitally affected by the decision to either plan the work or starting head down without any idea how the painting will finish.

It is not a matter of preference but of personality. To a great extent the subject will decide the issue. A painting of a building ? a design ? a specific place - a record painting ? a commissioned painting ? will usually lead the painter into an approach where pre-planning naturally results.

I?ve never understood why, but the Arts & entertainment world have always felt a quite sinister fascination for the ?died too young? artists. Perhaps the most famous case is James Dean in the cinema, but you?ll surely know Kurt Cobain in the music world or Jack Kerouac in the literature. And, if you look to the contemporary painting, you?ll find Jean-Michel Basquiat. Died at only 26, after a frenzy life highlighted with his ferocious graffiti art works, his multiple drug addictions and his problematic friendship with the also polemical Andy Warhol, Basquiat establishes himself not only as one of the most important artists of the second half of the past century, but also as a tragic icon of the contemporary Art world.

This major cultural rebirth and revival began in Italy during the 1300’s and spread throughout Europe until around 1650.

Here are a few of the historical milestones during this period of great change.

Lorenzo de Medici (MED-uh-chee) (1449-1492) was a prominent ruler of Florence, Italy who was also a strong patron of many great artists of that era:

Sandro Botticelli created the well know painting: The Birth of Venus.

Leonardo Da Vinci created the paintings: Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.

Michelangelo sculpted David and Pieta. He designed the dome of Saint Peter’s Basilica and painted the Sistine Chapel frescoes.

Simple Ideas for Breaking the Dangerous Icons in Your Art

You may be surprised by what I am about to tell you, at least partly. The two lines with the least variation are a perfectly straight line and a circle. A perfectly straight line has obviously no variety at all. But the circle, you ask? Yes, the circle. A circle curves at exactly the same ratio all along, has no variation of its curvature, it is of all curves the one with the least possible variety. These two lines are, therefore, two of the dullest, and are rarely used in drawings except to enhance the beauty and variety of other lines.

Magic Tricks Black Art

Wednesday

Black art is an old form of magic that is rarely used today in its original form. The effect black art produces is fantastic, it is as close to trick photography as you can get without a camera!

A magician practising black art will find a stage and dim the lights. While he and his assistants are wearing white, the audience can see them. The performers then command items to appear and move around. Versions of ’sawing a woman in half’ are performed and you can see the two halves moving round the stage, only to be melted back together, or just vanish. The possibilities are endless, and all leave the audience feeling mystified.

The ability to create art is a gift directly from God. Anything from God has power, so it is no surprise that what you create can influence what people do. It can impact the mind, emotions and will of an entire culture.

Culture is defined as:
?The behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought, especially as expressed in a particular community or period. A ?way of doing things? for a particular group of people?.

Art is a method of communication. It can:

-Tell a story.
-Relay an emotion.
-Reveal the unseen.
-Portray the seen in a unique way.

Many people in Britain are familiar with Joseph Mallord William Turner’s magical painting of the Fighting Temeraire, but what’s the story behind Britain’s favourite painting?

The Fighting Temeraire or The Fighting Temeraire, tugged to her Last Berth to be broken up (to give it’s full name) hangs in the National Gallery in London and continues to wow visitors.

It depicts a glorious sunset, through which sails a squat, dark tug boat, pulling a pale and almost ghostly sailing ship, The Fighting Temeraire behind it.

How To Win At Chess

Saturday
Oct 4,2008

This article is intended for anyone that desires to improve his or her game of chess. It is clearly not the aim of this article to show you how to be the greatest chess player in the world or how to get your rating over 2000. If you want to win at chess just follow what I say in this letter and you will attain significant results.

First I suggest that you buy or borrow a book entitled A primer of Chess by Capablanca. It is my opinion that Capablanca (Capa) was the greatest chess player in history. Read it three times cover to cover.
