If you?re in the mood to laugh yourself silly, Wallace & Gromit?s ?Curse of the Were-Rabbit? is a jolly good show for the whole family.

It?s about a dimwitted inventor named Wallace and his sidekick dog, Gromit, coming up with a solution to the flurry of rabbits destroying the community?s vegetable gardens. If something isn?t done quickly, the townspeople will have nothing to show for at the town?s Giant Vegetable Competition.

As we drove along the dirt road north of our farm one Sunday afternoon, the color of the sky reminded me of Mom’s silver cream and sugar servers when they were tarnished and needed to be polished again.

Since morning, the sky had been cloudy, but now at mid-afternoon, the clouds had grown much thicker and darker. Earlier in December we had gotten a little snow. Several forty-degree days had melted most of it, and the landscape was a combination of dun-colored grass, black tree branches and the russet color of certain oak leaves.

Misdirection is the art of distracting the audience while you perform your ’secret move’ without being spotted. Some think it is more important to get 100% correct than your patter. After all, if you can misdirect well enough, your trick can go completely wrong and the audience will never know!

It is essential to ‘control’ your audience’s thoughts and eyes - you should not give them the opportunity to think how does he do that or to see your subtle move.

Brainstorming may be the best approach to the initial stage in party planning. No other method will as quickly get at the main points which will make each party a distinct and successful occasion. Just jot down the ideas as they come and then worry about budgeting and other practical concerns which limit the initially exuberant ideas.

Party planning is then in the second phase: the practical one. Initial brainstorming will bring up the idea of hiring an ice carver but party planning will pare that back to hiring a caterer who owns a good ice mold. Similarly, the initial brainstorming might suggest hiring a magic act but after looking at the budget that might be downsized to asking a relative to do some magic tricks.

Let me start by saying that ?I am an American? Ok, there I have admitted it. But let me go on to make myself slightly more unpopular by suggesting that our American society does present us with a range of valuable and positive aspects. (no ? I am not being ironic yet) Before you stop reading, let me counter that by suggesting what I see as the greatest fault of our modern society. A self absorbed US-centric attitude? A destructive ill conceived foreign policy that is destroying our reputation across the globe? No, neither of these. In my opinion the greatest tragedy is the lack of widespread irony in our daily lives and conversations.

There is actually no physical proof or evidence that shows P.T. Barnum said, There’s a sucker born every minute. What we do know for sure is that Barnum and Bailey’s Greatest Show On Earth has been entertaining us for generations and has given us some of the greatest and sadly, most tragic moments in circus history.

Barnum and Bailey’s circus goes back to the 19th century. P.T. Barnum was born in 1810 in Connecticut. He actually met Bailey while an owner of a retail fruit store in Bethel. Right from their first encounter, Barnum knew that this was a man he wanted to do business with. It turned out to be one of the greatest partnerships of all time.

Hello. Is the doctor in?

I’ll be with you as soon as I finish filling in these forms.

But I really need to see a doctor.

There, now what can I do fo ? EEEEEK! You…you….you’re a grizzly bear.

Yes, ma’am. Can I see the doctor, please?

Wh…why would you want to see the doctor? He doesn’t usually see grizzly bears, you know.

Some movie actor thought he’d be a real smarty and kiss me.

Oh, oh, I saw that on TV. That was Brad Pitt. You’re the Brad Pitt Bear.

In 1934, when Walt Disney called for a meeting among his artists, a rumor had spread that he was going to shut the studio down and they would all be left unemployed during the great depression. Instead he personally told them in his own spellbinding way the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which he intended to make into his first feature length film. It was a risk unlike any other he had taken before. The film would cost a million and a half dollars at a time Disney was spending anywhere from ten to thirty thousand on his short cartoons. Doubts came from his wife Lillian and his brother and business partner Roy, who were sure they would be in debt for most of the rest of the lives. Also nervous was Walt’s backer Bank of America, who at one point interrupted the production by cutting off his credit. Then there were the heads of the other studios like MGM, Universal and Warner Brothers. They would gather for their weekly poker games at the Hillcrest Country Club and speculate that Walt, who they called the Mickey Mouse Man, would never succeed, no one would sit still for an hour and a half to watch a cartoon. And the press referred to Snow White as Disney’s Folly.

This is for the friend or family member whom you have not seen or heard from in a while. You just want the person to know that he has not been forgotten. In fact, you think of him every day.

As you were going about your normal duties, you were thinking about him. Your mind reflected on him when you were walking down the street. While walking, you passed someone that looked like him. While riding on the subway, you heard someone talking and it sound like him. So, it’s time to stop and take action. It is okay to let someone know that you are thinking about them by sending a “Thinking of You” poem.
